Ryan Jared Haustorfer (b. May 31, 1990) is an Australian session drummer, record engineer and producer, based in Naarm.

At age 13, Ryan learnt the importance of groove, rhythm and timing as a musician very earlier on when he started his musical journey on the Bass Guitar. Having been brought up in a rural country town in Australia, he had only been exposed to the music that his parents had on vinyl - bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Kiss, Pink Floyd & Queen. As Ryan listened to and mimicked the songs from these legendary bands, he soon discovered the integral role of the rhythm section - but more importantly, that of the drummer. At age 15, he recognised his underlying passion for the drums and he had this feeling that from then on, his life would never be the same again. After only a couple of months of playing the drums, Ryan made his big break as a working musician when he landed the drum part in his hometown’s musical production of ‘Footloose’ - playing to upwards of 500 people, twice a day, for a week straight. During this incredible experience, Ryan was able to quickly develop his skills behind the kit within the genres of Rock, Pop, Jazz, Funk, R&B, Disco & Latin. He continued to study the drums intensely throughout his teenage years, by receiving lessons from Sydney session drummer Nick Pitt, as well as completing his V.C.E. Group Music in Year 11 & 12 - finishing top of his class. After having completed high school, Ryan knew he wanted to become a professional session musician, so he decided to move to Melbourne - the musical capital of the world - for it's vibrant live music scene and home to some of the most talented singer/songwriters in the world. During the last 10 years in Melbourne, Ryan has fiercely honed his craft and studied under some of Australia's most sort after and seasoned session drummers and teachers - Gerry Pantazis and Vish Vadivelu. He’s also put his head in the books again and again to learn more about music theory, composition and music production - completing a Bachelor of Popular Music at JMC Academy, as well as a Diploma of Music Production at SAE Qantm Institute. Ryan is now at the forefront of the current generation of working musicians in Melbourne, playing for countless bands and artists - both live and in the studio. You can catch him performing around town with Ceeko, Halo Vocal Ensemble, Katie and Strictly D.T. - as well as hosting and playing drums at his live music residency night ‘Westsider’, with his partner and vocalist Liona Tatafu.
